Milnthorpe Cup Trial Event Report
What a lovely day.... a very welcome change to have a sunny day, making it smiles(especially from Bello!!) all round for riders, observers, spectators and organisers. Seems by all the reactions, comments and smiles that you all loved your day’s ride round the Lakes, some maybe wished it had been without the sections..... But looking at the scores, there was some impressive riding out there, especially on the green course, where it was a very tight battle for top spot. Hope you all enjoyed the trial, a lot of work goes into our single lap trials, nationals in all but words, but this is something we’re very proud of at Westmorland and something we hope we can continue to offer. Hope we came up to your expectations, as we tried to put a rider friendly event on that was well organised, gave value for money, and results that hopefully beat you home.... Like to thank you for supporting us, entering up and being part of our trial, also like to thank greatly Kim, Jordan, Amber, Holly and Paige(hows the leg Steve!!) for running the signing on and results cabin, oh and throwing the odd observed section in for good measure!! Thank you’s also go to the setting out team headed by Tony Wild, and supported by Jim, Shutty, Karl and Tom, thanks also to Christine Hudson and Bing for all their help with the observers etc, our timekeeper Stuart Hackett(who we keep finishing too early for!!) and Club Steward & Fuel Manager John Howson. My biggest thanks go to our observers, especially to those that did two sections and hope you will join us for the Hutchinson Cup on the 11th April, this is the 2nd round of the Northern Centre Schoolboy Championship and will have all Schoolboy classes. Many thanks to all our Landowners, who let us ride in this very sensitive part of the country. Lastly like to point out to riders, that if you miss a section, you really have two options, go back to it, or take the penalty for a missed section. What you don’t do is get someone to punch a clean in it!! really not the best option when the person who does the results is observing the section you miss!!! (could say that’s bad luck!!) All the best to you all, hope you have a great week, and if you’re not doing the Classics at Lancs and Bootle next week, then the next trial is on the 21st of March, this is the 1st round of the Northern Centre Youth Trials Championship and is being run by the Barrow club. Observers draw won by Robin Nelson(whiskey) and Graham Swindlehurst(wine)
Many thanks also for the support and sponsorship that we receive from Triple D Motosports of Kendal, Scorpa and Sherco trials dealers and KTM dealers for all your orange needs, sales, spares, repairs and accessories (01539) 732666
Cheers Browny..
