Toni Bou (Montesa Cota 4RT) has won the 33rd edition of the Barcelona Indoor Trial authoritatively, third scoring event in the World Championship, held this Sunday in the Palau Sant Jordi. With this victory, his second in the season, the Montesa rider leads the general classification. Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa Cota 4RT) obtained a significantly better result than in the two previous events, ending just one point from a podium position.

Toni Bou was the best rider during the whole event, as can be seen by his results in the qualifying lap (0 points) and the semi-final (1 point in the parallel race). The pluriworld champion made just one mistake in the obstacle at the end of the event, which did not compromise his victory at all.

Fujinami was third in the qualifying lap (10 points) and obtained 15 points in the semi-final and 10 (second best score) in the last lap.

Toni Bou: “Winning in Barcelona is always important, due to the prestige of this event, and in our case, because we are competing before our fans. So, I’m very satisfied, despite my mistake in the last zone. This result has rewarded the work we put into the motorbike for this event, which is always so specific. To return to leadership in the general classification is good, but with two more events to go to end the championship, it’s absolutely impossible to predict the final result. The rules are complicated and as we’ve seen in each event, surprises cannot be ruled out. So, as always, race by race and let’s see what happens in March”.

Takahisa Fujinami: “This time I got to the final at last. So the result is positive. It’s a pity I couldn’t get onto the podium because of just one point. I caught up in the final, but it wasn’t enough. I would have liked to be with Toni on the podium to celebrate his and Montesa’s victory in this special venue”.
