The snow covered terrain of Cox's farm only a week ago was merely a distant memory as the sun shone on 77 entrants for this the second Oxford Ixion championship round for 2010 where 4 laps of ten were on todays menu.
In the Expert class Local Ace Rob Warner had to work hard for victory over club member John Cowley just edging it by a single point.
Rob's all out style on section two a very slick hill climb with a turn at half way was pretty impressive and the crowd were glued to this section for most of the day.John Cowley also put some quality rides in and section nine was an example of pure control,a downhill and twisting job with tree roots and gripless cambers culminating with a hop though a very awkward Vee-Tree.
Young Jack Williamson battled on to Youth A victory on the Sherco 125 screaming it up the many Hill-Climb sections.
James Fletcher 315R was best Intermediate riding the hard route dabbing on every visit to section one a long steep banked sub with roots that were approached across a cambered rise.
On the standard route Ali Haigh 290 Sherco put in the best performance with a loss of 15 riding the Clubman class with 9 of these going astray on the hardest section of the day sub 10.This sub took no prisoners with a deep turn and barley enough room to get lined up for the slickest of climbs before dropping down over an awkward lace of roots.
John Langston made best Novice award with some fearless rides on Jim Axfords section three, an all out 3rd gear blast with with a tricky left then right handed climb to the ends.
Eight Youth B on parade today with Charlie Langston returning a score of 39 to pip Patrick Topless by a single mark Patrick had a soft two on section five lap two although this short sharp climb with a twist in the tail was a decieving one.
Twinshock maestro Alan Taylor 325 Bultaco put one over Rob Faulkner also by a single mark although Faulkner's newly aquired TY175 smoking ratling shaking and much more dog of a yoke machine done well do to stay alive thoughout the event.
A quality entry of 23 tackled the eased Blue route Kevin Miller just edging it on a tie-break with Kevin McCullagh after this pair retuned on 30 apiece McCullagh must have thought he had done enough to take the class win after a brilliant clean on the aforementioned sub ten.
