JAMES DABILL, JST GGUK No.1 Rider finished 5th at the second round of the World indoor Trials Championship at Marseille on Saturday night.
Dibs reached the semi-final stage using the ‘amended’ FIM rules. He was 6th after qualifying after a bad 5 on the logs.
This meant he had to go to the LCQ (which he won) and then into the semi final to finish 5th overall for the night.
He had no excuses and he and Jack are happy with his level of riding.
Dibs is now 4th in the Championship with two rounds done.
Good to see Adam back on the podium C’mon Adam, step it up for Barca!
Jack and Dibs travelled back to the GG Factory yesterday for another hard weeks training for Round 3 at Barcelona this coming Sunday.
I think all the riders are still not 100% happy with the format but nevertheless they can only ride to the rules that are set. I think the FIM are ‘trying’ to get the format ‘fair’ for all the riders but it is still complicated for most.
Years ago, if you were not in the Top 4 after the first heat you were going home and only the top 4 went through to the final. At least now the riders finishing 5th,6th 7th and 8th after the heat (qualifying) still have ‘something’ to fight for with the LCQ and semi final. Look at Wiggy, he qualified 8th only one mark from going home and in the end did well in the LCQ and semi to finish a fantastic 6th, good on him!
No matter what the rules at this top level there will always be some that are not happy..
Regards,
Shirty |
